Find Us

Our normal venues for Meetings are the Abingdon Community Support Service, Crabtree Place, off Audlett Drive, and the Garden Room, St Ethelwold’s House, 30 East St Helen Street (photo on right).

Note that the Abingdon Community Support Service is also known locally by its previous names: the Abbey Centre, Abingdon Health & Wellbeing Centre, or the Independent Living Centre.

Please note that neither of these locations is to be used for written correspondence; instead, please contact us by either telephone or email.

Accessibility:

  • The Abingdon Community Support Service has step-free access and a disabled toilet.
  • The Garden Room at St Ethelwold’s is on the ground floor, but does not have step-free access.

How to Find Us

Car

Our two venues are marked with a Q on the map below. Alternatively, you can view the map as an interactive Google map. Pan and zoom around it in the same way as any other Google Map.

  • Abingdon Community Support Service has its own car park, which is operated by a barrier. A Friend will be on hand to open the barrier for you until five minutes after the start of Meeting for Worship.
  • The nearest car park to St Ethelwold’s House is off West St Helen Street and is accessed via St Edmund’s Lane. It is shown on the map below.

Bus

A number of routes serve Abingdon from the surrounding villages. The Oxford Bus Company website has a list of the buses in and around Abingdon. Alight from the bus at the Abingdon High Street stop (A7).

  • To reach the Abingdon Community Support Service, walk back along the High Street, past the County Hall Museum to the road junction. Cross the street (with care!) to St Nicolas Church and go through the archway to the right. A pleasant 12-15 minute walk along the edge of the Abbey Meadows takes you to the venue. Follow the blue route shown on the map below (not interactive).
  • To reach St Ethelwold’s House, walk back along the High Street to the County Hall Museum (the tall building with arches underneath). East St Helen Street leads off from the back of the Museum; St Ethelwold’s is on the left about two-thirds of the way along.

Train

Take a bus from Oxford, Didcot Parkway or Radley stations to Abingdon High Street, and then follow the instructions for walking. Alternatively, there are taxi ranks at Oxford and Didcot Parkway.
